BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 1 : Dehradun - Sankri [ Drive- 7 Hrs / Elevation- 6400ft Sankri Stay In Hotel - Wild Orchid Inn ]
Day 2 : Sankri - Juda Ka Talab [ Trek - 5 Hrs / Elevation- 9100ft Juda Ka Talab / Stay In Camp ]
Day 3 : Juda Talaab - Kedarkantha Base Camp and ski introduction [ Elevation- 11,250 Ft Kedarkantha Base Camp / Trek- 3 Hrs / Stay In Camp ]
Day 4, 5 AND 6 : Skiing classes at base camp in powder snow, overnight stays at base camp for all three days.
Day 7 : Base Camp - Kedarkantha Peak – Base Camp [ Elevation- 3850 M Kedarkantha Peak]
Day 8 : Base Camp – Sankri (stay in hotel) (4 hrs. trek)
Day 9 : Sankri – Dehradun (Drive 7 Hrs.)

ABOUT TREK

Kedar Kantha Trek is a classic winter trek for the trekkers. Kedar Kantha is a beautiful ridge peak situated in the Tons river valley of the Garhwal Himalayas Uttarakhand. It is accessible anytime of the year. This trek gives you ample time to soak in the flora and fauna and passes through the protected area of Govind National Park. You will rewarded with the views of Ranglana peak, Kalanag peak, Banderpooch peak and Swargarohini peak after reaching the top at an altitude of 3850 meters. The cycling trek to Mori from Sankri passes through some beautiful sceneries along the Tons River. The Kedar Kantha trek provides a great opportunity to view the scenic beauty and feel the experience of the life of remote villages of Uttarakhand Himalayas.

Kedar Kantha passes through the beautiful pine forests and meadows covered with snow in winters. The trek starts with a crunchy walk on a carpet of brown leaves in a pine forest and gives you natural beautiful views. After reaching on the top you can see the Garhwal Himalayan Mountains kissing the morning sky with their snow-clad peaks. This trek offers you the experience a snowfall, beautiful views of snow-capped and camp in snow and this trek introduce people to trekking on snow. The trail will switch from walking on soil to walking on snow and goes through the rich forests, snow laden trail with patches of green meadow.

This trek gives you the unsurpassed beauty, magnificent views of charming villages, meadows, snow paths, dramatic landscape dotted with lovely lakes, mountains, tranquil rivers and the great Himalayan peaks. The people of these charming villages follow a unique culture and practice. This is a perfect trek for the trekkers who want to see the beauy of snowfall, views of snow-capped and camp in snow with outstanding natural scenes. It will give you all that you want from trekking in snow.

Itinerary

DAY 1 : DEHRADUN - SANKRI [ DRIVE- 7 HRS / ELEVATION- 6400FT SANKRI STAY IN HOTEL - WILD ORCHID INN ]

Early in the morning we will start drive from Dehradun to Sankri. It will take 7 hrs to reach Sankri at 6,300 feet, covered by a waft of clouds, gateway for your trekking journey. We will stay overnight in hotel - Wild Orchid Inn.

DAY 2 : SANKRI - JUDA KA TALAB [ TREK - 5 HRS / ELEVATION- 9100FT JUDA KA TALAB / STAY IN CAMP ]

With good breakfast, we will start trek toward Juda ka Talab. It will take 5 hrs to reach Juda ka talab at 9,100 feet, The trail goes to a gentle climb and passes through the pine forests and maple trees. We will stay overnight in camp.

DAY 3 : JUDA TALAAB - KEDARKANTHA BASE CAMP [ ELEVATION- 11,250 FT KEDARKANTHA BASE CAMP / TREK- 3 HRS / STAY IN CAMP ]

Today we start trek to Kedarkantha Base Camp from Juda Talaab. The trail goes through the pine and oak trees and opens out onto a sprawling meadow below Kedarkantha and gives you the gorgeous views of snow capped peaks. We will have an introduction to ski for an hour or two to prepare for the fun skiing the following day. We will stay overnight in camp.

DAY 4, 5 and 6 : SKIING LESSONS AND SKIING AROUND BASE CAMP

We start the basic course today on field and for next three days we will learn different techniques of skiing all day long. The instructors are well versed with the area and slopes
around and safety of clients will be of paramount importance. All ski gears will be provided to you.

DAY 7 : BASE CAMP-KEDARKANTHA-SKII DOWN TO BASE CAMP (Elevation 3850 meters)

Today we will start 3 km ascent to the Kedarkantha top and we will return back to the base camp skiing down from the slopes of Kedarkantha. This will be a fun day and also the day to test your skills in slopes. Today we will be able to ski unstoppable for longer stretches (depending on skills and expertise gained in last three days). The views here are very breath-taking and gorgeous. We will stay overnight in base camp.

DAY 8 : BASE CAMP-SANKRI

Today we will descend all the way back to Sankri passing the first camp site i.e. Jud aka Talaab. The descend will be easier and quicker than the ascend and today we will get views of peaks and there are chances of encountering wildlife. We will stay overnight at Hotel in Sankri.

DAY 9 : SANKRI - DEHRADUN [ DRIVE- 210 KMS / TIME- 10-11 HOURS ]

It will be the final day of the trip and we will start drive to Dehradun from Sankri and drop you off at Dehradun. It is about 210 km journey full of enjoyment. It will be a memorable trek for you and you will fall in love with the Himalayas, and it’s beauty.
