Considered as a strenuous trek it takes you as high as 5450 meters. A trek which starts with the lovely local and cultural exposure from the near and far by villages of Sankri, Saud, Taluka, Gangaad, Dhatmir, Seema and Osla untill Har Ki Dun, this trek then turns left from the Har Ki Dun platue to take you to the alpine meadow and Morinda Tal.
From Morinda Tall and beyond, the Borasu Pass trek slowly starts showing its true sign of being one of the very special and difficult treks in the Indian Himalayas. The terrain reveals itself in form of glacial moraine with lots of laiden boulders and scree zone. Climbing up steep to the camp of Lamjunga from Sawan Bera and then to the top of the pass offering spectacular views of the surrounding valleys and peaks of Kinnaur and Har ki Dun. It then takes you down to the wide Zupica Glacier. It takes a while before the terrain eases out and you reach the meadows of Bonga and Rani Kanda and then to the flavoured village of Chitkul where the lovely trek ends
Day 01 Dehradun to Sankari (1,900m.)
Travel from DehraDun to Sankari 177 kms by Taxi (lunch on route ) on arrival check Sankri G.M.V.N. and Hotel Swargarohini Palace at Sankari which is located on the confluence of the Supin River at Sankari Sour village Lord of Someswar Temple and Rite side Supin River The best Know valley in the region is the pretty Har ki Dun loved for its with expense flowers and Mountain views. The valley east of Har ki Dun.
Day 02 Sankari to Taluka(11km.) (4/5hrs) (1,900m.)
Morning breakfast at hotel then Start Trek Taluka There is a jeep available from Sankari to Taluka along the Supin River However streams overflow boulders fool or jeeps conk out It s a gentle walk. For this unused to physical exertion it is a nice warm up for the trek Taluka the forest rest house and G.M.V.N. overlooks the Supin River and has views of the beckoning mountains in the east. And then Dinner overnight at the camp.
Day 03 Taluka Osla, Seema(13km.) (6-7hrs) (2,590m.)
Next day Morning breakfast at Hotels , Dhaba, Camp and then start Trek Taluka to Osla there is a short descent to the river followed by level walking on the path handing east along the river for about 40 mins which brings you to a bridge cross the bridge and you are in the small meadow. Then the path turns east and starts climbing up the mountain. There is a little uphill climb at places. Landslides rains and falling trees necessitate small detours at times you starts passing cultivated fields as you near Seema, Osla Village there is a Forest Rest House and G.M.V.N. your camp near lake side view. At evening walk around the Osla Village . Dinner & overnight at the camp.
Day 04 Osla, Seema Harkidun (11km.)6-7hrs (3,566m.)
Breakfast at the Camp then Trek 11 kms for Harkidun 6/7 hrs. the walk meadows at the near Harkidun Gad with the water Cascading around boulders There is a sturdy wooden bridge which you cross and a short climb bridge you to a nice camping place if you want to pitch your tent or walk another camp near River side view. At evening walk around the Harkidun . Dinner & overnight at the camp.
Day 05 Harkidun to Rata Do (7km.)(6-hrs (3,566m.)
Morning Breakfast at the Camp then Trek Start 7 kms for Rata do 4/ 5hrs. the walk meadows at the near Manida Tal with the water Cascading around boulders There is a sturdy wooden bridge which you cross and a short climb bridge you to a nice camping place if you want to pitch your tent or walk another camp near River side view. At evening walk around the . Dinner & overnight at the camp Rata do.
Day 06 Rata Do to Sauni Bheda (7km. 7-hrs (4,000m.)
High altitude but very gradual trek by the Ratado Glacier side to reach the Sauni Bheda . Dinner & overnight at the camp Rata do.
Day 07 Sauni Bheda to Lamjunga (6kmt) (5hrs) (4500mt )
Day 08 Lamjunga (Badasu Pass) to Bonga (5km.)6-hrs (5,300m.)
Morning Breakfast at the Camp then Start Trek 2km. Pass Crossing: early the morning 6/7am.Cross pass early at about 3,366 and get down to the Lamjunga Glacier side Long walk downhill for about 5Kms to reach Bunga Glacier walk in steadily dropping altitude. Dinner & overnight at the camp Bunga
Day 09 Bunga to Jayhary (8km.) 6/7hrs (3,166m.)
Walk; in the last leg. Reaching Bunga from jayhary about 8 km walk downhill first on the true right and then on the true left of river. Water Cascading around boulders There is a sturdy wooden bridge which you cross and a short climb bridge you to a nice camping place overnight at the camp Jayhary.
Day 10 Jayhary to Rani kanda to Chitcul road had (11km.) 6/7hrs (3,450m.) to Sangla same day to shimla by texi
Morning Bark fast and Pinking then start treak 11km. Jayhary to Chitkul Road Had Easy Day:. walk downhill first on the true right and then on the true left of river. The bridge crosses over to the left bank at Ranikanda Enquiry for Permissions e.t.c and rich Chitkul jeep support beyond Chitkul.. Travel by Jeep for one hour to reach Sangla.
